Scalloping Rig

It is often said that most divers who drown are found on the bottom with a bag full of scallops in hand or somehow still attached to him.  I'm not sure how accurate that is but I've seen enough guys struggling at the surface to realise that swimming a bag full of scollies is hard work.

The answer is simple - attach your catchbag to your floatline and leave it all on the bottom.

This way you simply move the bag along with you as you pick your scollies up off the bottom and leave them there to return to the surface to catch your breath.  When you're done just call the boat over and haul them up from the deck or, if you've got to swim, pull them up and clip them off to your float.  Using your float also means that you can fly a flag to make you more visible to those pesky dredgers.

For the ultimate scalloping rig combine: an RA float with flag, Wild Blue 25m Floatline and a Rob Allen Cray Net.
